Module 5: Share Introduction and Downloads
Congratulations on making it this far in Photo Rescue Blueprint! Be encouraged that your goal is within your grasp. There’s still some work ahead, but in this module we’ll take advantage of everything we’ve done so far and use it to prepare a family photo and history legacy ready for your family now and for future generations.
Module 5 contains three sections.
Part 1: Keywords and Metadata
Part 2: Secure and Share
Part 3: Family History Projects
Part 1: Keywords and Metadata is optional since it requires that you have a photo editing software program such as Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. I’ll leave it up to you whether or not you want to take this additional step.
Even if you don’t have Photoshop or Photoshop Elements I encourage you to watch the step-by-step how-to videos in this section. They’ll teach you how to attach family history “notes” directly to the photos by adding keywords and other information (called metadata). This will allow you (and your descendants) to easily search for specific photos and to see information about a photo when you open it in a photo editing program.
Keywords and metadata are the digital version of writing something on the back of the photo. This information stays with the photo, even when you give a digital copy of it to another family member.
Once you’ve seen the videos and understand what it takes to add metadata and keywords, you can decided whether this is something you want to do right now or not.
