The filters available in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements can help you create some very fun art. In this lesson we’ll look at one possibility: creating a coloring book illustration using filters and blend modes! To quickly create this effect, I've create a one click action. (Download the action above.)
By the way, the edge overlay by Joanne Brisebois that I use on my demo page is not part of the class downloads, but you can find it in her store here. It's a great set that I use frequently, and it's very reasonably priced.
Note of Clarification: You can use a blend mode on your line drawing as long as it's not clipped to a mask. If your line drawing is clipped to a mask you will need to merge down (Windows: Ctrl E, Mac: Cmd E) and combine the coloring book outline with the mask before you change the blend mode. Otherwise, the blend mode will just interact with the clipping mask instead of the paper below.
