In the following lessons we’ll be using two methods to create new type layers—a “professional” method and a common workaround. I’ll explain both mehtods now so you know what they are and won’t be confused later when you see me randomly using one or the other. I’ve gotten into the habit of doing that, but I recommend that YOU use the professional method all the time because it’s simpler and faster and “best practice.”
