Print With Picture Package
Picture Package is a really fun way to print more than one postcard on a single piece of photo paper. I’ll show you how to access this feature and set up your postcards for printing.
Note: There are separate videos in this lesson for Mac and Windows.

Picture Package is a great way to set up multiple photos for printing either one photo printed multiple times, or two or more different photos printed at the same time. Let's say for example that you want to print to have the same postcard. Open the image you want to print in Photoshop Elements. In the Menu Bar, choose File, Print. When the Print dialog box comes up, choose Picture Package from step four. Elements will then open Organizer, the organizing software that comes with Photoshop Elements.
Follow the steps on the right, make sure you have the correct printer. The correct printer settings and the correct size of paper you're printing on the type of print should already be set to Picture Package. In Step five, open the Layout menu and choose the layout you want. You can use this to create different sizes of photos, such as one five by seven, and two three and a half by five inch photos. But because this dialog box assumes you aren't going to print to the edge, you will get a warning dialog box. So just click OK.
If you want the same photo to fill every place in the layout, check Fill Page With First Photo. But I want two four by six photos because I plan to use them at actual size as a real postcard. As it stands I have two copies of the same image, but your images don't have to be the same, and you can put more than two images on a page as long as they fit. Let's say I want to print all three of my postcards on one piece of photo paper, which will be a better use of my paper. I open the Layout menu and choose three four by sixes. Click OK to accept the warning. Now I have three images on my layout. If you don't want the first image to fill the layout, uncheck fill page with first photo. Then click on the Add icon.
In the Add Media dialog box, click on an image you want to add. If you want to add more than one image, hold down the Control key and click on an additional thumbnail. Then click Add Selected Media and click Done. The images should now be added to the layout. When you're finished, click Print.
So that's how to use Picture Package to print more than one photo on a single sheet of photo paper. Again, let your paper dry before cutting out the individual postcards.

Picture Package is a great way to set up multiple photos for printing, either one photo printed multiple times, or two or more different photos printed at the same time.
Let's say for example that you want to print two of the same postcard. Open the image you want to print in Photoshop Elements. In the Menu Bar, choose File, Picture Package. When the dialog box comes up, in the Source Images section, choose Frontmost Document from the list to display your selected image.
In the Documents section, choose an appropriate page size. You won't see the standard page sizes here because this dialog box assumes you aren't going to print to the edge. So I'll choose 8 x 10 inches, which will fit nicely on an eight and a half by 11 size of photo paper.
Open the Layout menu and choose the layout you want. You can use this to create different sizes of photos, such as one 5 x 7, and two 3.5 x 5 inch photos, reminiscent of the school photo packages offered to families of each school child once a year. But I want to 4 x 6 photos because I plan to use them at actual size as a real postcard.
The resolution should be 300 pixels per inch, and use RGB color. Since this is just for printing, check Flatten All Layers. There's a Label section as well, which has a number of options in the Content menu. But if you just want to print photos, make sure it's set to None.
As it stands now I have two copies of the same image. But your images don't have to be the same and you can put more than two images on a single page as long as they fit. Let's say that I want to print all three of my postcards on one piece of photo paper, which will be a better use of my paper. I'll open the Layout menu and choose three 4 x 6. Now I have three images on my layout.
To change an image click on it. You'll get a dialog box where you can navigate to the image you want. I'll choose postcard-2-life.jpg and click Open. I'll do the same with another preview image. And this time I'll choose postcard-3-love. Click on Picture Package to make it active and click OK and Photoshop Elements will combine the three images into one document ready for printing. Use the same instructions for printing that I gave you in the last lesson.
So that's how to use Picture Package to print multiple images. After printing you can close the document without saving it since you no longer need it.
