Learn how to remove haze from a photo and make it look its best. Here's a photo that looks a bit hazy. If I zoom in, you can see it a little bit better. It's almost like we're looking through a light fog. Photoshop Elements has a great tool for getting rid of haze. So let's take a look at it. If you want to follow along you'll find this photo called hazy-lighthouse.jpg in the Part 6, lesson six practice folder.
Press Ctrl J in Windows or Command J on a Mac to duplicate the photo. In the Menu Bar, choose Enhanc, Haze Removal. When the dialog box comes up, adjust the Haze Reduction slider. And this will vary with every photo. For this image, I'll drag the slider to the left. That gives it a little less of the effect. You can also adjust the Sensitivity slider to tweak the effect or move it to the left also. That also reduces the effect slightly. So maybe right about there. Click on the Before and After button to compare the effect with the original image. When you're satisfied, click OK.
Again, here's the image without the Haze Removal filter, and here it is with it. So De-Haze is a powerful tool for turning a hazy photo into a great photo.
