- Placing the title randomly (place it in proximity with another focal point)
- Using 2 spaces after an endpoint (a throwback to manual typewriter days and not appropriate for computer generated type)
- Title doesn’t match the remainder of the page design

Quiz #2: An Eye for Design
Here’s the above scrapbook page with all the no-no’s fixed. See if you can spot the 3 design principles listed below. (If needed, refresh your memory by watching my Design Basics videos.)
1. Can you find the design principle of Repetition?
SHOW ANSWER
Answer: The color green is repeated throughout the page.
There is green in the photo, the title is green, there are green leaves, the flowery card contains green, and the flower is green.
2. Can you spot the Flow of this design?
Show Answer
Answer: I first saw the flow of a triangle on this page, but you could also associate a circle with the flow.
3. Does this image contain White Space?
Show Answer
Answer: Yes. The scrapbook page has a wide 2 inch margin of white space on all four sides.
Even though the background paper contains a subtle pattern, this space is free of distracting papers, elements and type.
